The Patrick County Education Foundation was founded in 2001 as an economic development initiative.  Unlike most such initiatives, our Foundation’s mission is driven by the belief that education is the key to a bright future and strong economy for Patrick County.  As we look around our nation and region today, we realize that competition will be fierce for the good jobs and desirable businesses that will be part of this emerging information-driven economy.  One thing is clear:  If Patrick County is to successfully compete in this new global arena and build a strong economic foundation from which to grow for generations to come, education must become our top priority.  Our only path to strong and sustainable employment opportunities, fair wages and growth industries in the future is through the development of an educated and skilled workforce today.
