The Foundation’s “Last Dollar Scholarship” is a
central component of our College Access Program. Through it, the Foundation can both
encourage Patrick County students to pursue postsecondary education and help make
college financially possible by providing critical “last dollar” funds
to cover the costs of higher education.
"Last Dollar Scholarship" awards are provided to college-bound or
technical school-bound Patrick County graduating seniors who demonstrate significant financial need.
Awards are made after all other forms of college financial aid are secured. They are intended to cover
the remaining costs of education up to $1,500 for students’ first year of college and up to
$750 for each of the next three years.
Through the Class of 2006, the Foundation has committed $573,750 in “Last Dollar
Scholarship” awards to 153 Patrick County students.
