Since the launch of our College Access Program,
the Foundation has actively worked to expand program
resources and increase college attendance. One particularly
successful effort has been our work to identify and build
collaborative relationships with key colleges and universities
from throughout the Commonwealth. Through such relationships,
we have obtained commitments from these “agreement” schools to provide
to Patrick County students additional scholarship
and financial assistance that otherwise would not be available.
By the end of our 2003 fiscal year, we had
signed agreements with 4 private colleges and universities.
By January 2004, that number had grown to nine (9) and work
continues to bring even more institutions on-board. The Foundation
currently has agreements with:
- Averett University
- Bridgewater College
- Ferrum College
- Hampden-Sydney College
- Hollins University
- Roanoke College
- Shenandoah University
- University of Richmond
- Virginia Intermont College
