Our Agreement Schools:
The following colleges and universities have signed agreements with the Patrick County Education Foundation in which they agree to provide Patrick County seniors with scholarships and other financial assistance beyond that which is normally available.

Listed below are just a few of the many resources available through which you can gather information and get help with exploring and planning your career and furthering your education. We believe you will find useful information here, whether you are 8 or 80! While some of these websites may require that you register in order to use their services, all were selected because their services are free.

  1. VirginiaMentor
    An online resource to help students and their families plan a career, prepare for and select a college, apply for college admission and search for ways to finance higher education. It offers access to information and admissions applications for public and private colleges and universities throughout Virginia.

  2. CollegeNet, Inc.
    A source for learning more about colleges and scholarships. CollegeNet provides users with the opportunity to apply online for admission to specific colleges and assists with the identification of scholarship sources. It conducts searches using keywords and user interest profiles.

  3. The Education Trust
    The Education Trust seeks to improve education and promote high academic achievement at all levels, from pre-kindergarten through college. Particularly useful is its interactive Web tool through which parents of college-bound students can learn more about student graduation rates at 4-year colleges and universities.

  4. SREB’s Electronic Campus
    A service of the Southern Regional Education Board, the Electronic Campus assists traditional-age students and adult learners in identifying colleges of interest and in locating specific college-level programs and courses.

  5. Test Preview
    A source for free practice questions from common standardized tests plus tips on preparation for tests. This site provides practice tests for ACT, SAT, GED, GRE and many more of the most common tests today.

  6. Virginia Employ
    Website of the Virginia Employment Commission that includes services for businesses, employers and citizens. The site includes a link to Career Connect which provides students and their parents with a wealth of information on education, careers and employment projections.   7. Virginia CareerView
    The Career Information System for the Virginia Department of Education. This site provides information to all citizens about educational and career opportunities and directs users to a number of its free resources for information on colleges, careers, financial aid, study tips and more.

  8. Knowhow Virginia
    An easy-to-use online career information resource provided by the Commonwealth of Virginia and its partners through the Virginia Career Education Foundation.
