The Patrick County Education
Foundation is an economic development initiative created to raise County education
attainment levels to rank among the top five rural counties in Virginia and attract
new businesses and job opportunities to the area.
To achieve our Mission by 2011, the Foundation will:
- Increase the percentage of high school graduates
who attend college,
- Increase the number of adults with a high school diploma or higher
level of education, and
- Update and expand the job-skills of the County’s workforce.
To achieve these goals, the Foundation
has launched a three-phase initiative that includes:
Through these initiatives, the Foundation will provide the leadership, training
and support necessary to:
- Change the way Patrick County citizens view education,
- Increase opportunities for and participation in job training
and education,
- Lay the foundation for a brighter economic future
for our community by developing a well-educated and "new economy
employment-ready" workforce, and
- Move our County
into the top five rural counties in the Commonwealth of Virginia in key measures
of education attainment.
